The Yerba Buena Stompers, one of the top traditional jazz bands in the world, was formed by John Gill and Leon Oakley, both veterans of Turk Murphy’s Jazz Band.  They chose musicians who could keep the rousing West Coast style of jazz alive with the twin brass tones created by Lu Watters and Bob Scobey in the 1940s.  The four-man front line, backed up by a powerful rhythm section, brings new life to old favorites.

Ida Blue, an outstanding young artist, brings a New York touch to the San Francisco style of classic blues.  She can make a sweet song sassy or a bitter song raucous and can raise the energy level even in a band that’s already cooking!
