NORTH SIDE JAZZ BAND

Columbus, Ohio

Combining the talents of several musicians from the former Toll House Jazz Band with those of veterans of other Ohio groups, the North Side Jazz Band has brought the Classic/Traditional jazz and dance music of the 1920s and '30s to appreciative regional audiences since 2009, via a 4-year regular gig at Columbus's venerable historic Florentine Restaurant,  jazz society events (including the 2011 final EARLYJAS Festival), municipal park concerts statewide, arts theatre performances, and most recently by moving its regular "home" gig to the prestigious Mozart's Cafe in Clintonville, a Columbus suburb.

A wide variety of repertoire is offered; hot dance tunes pleasing to their Lindy Hop patrons, classic blues, New Orleans, West Coast and

Chicago jazz, all punctuated by vocals, ragtime piano

renditions, and specialty numbers by band members.

Thus the Classic Jazz tradition is safely preserved

in their capable hands.
